Zaklebar villa is located on a mountain slope near Lahijan. Lahijan is a part of the humid and temperate region of the north part of Iran.
There are spectacular views on the northeast and northwest side of the site.
Considering the climate characteristics, landscape views, and prospective neighbor buildings, the villa concept was developed in an east-west orientation.
The concept of the villa’s dynamic volume is based on the inspiration of its surrounding mountains to look homogeneous with context. Therefore, the volume inclines towards the east side so as not to block the view of passersby to the rearview. The western front is considered to be completely closed to control the rain and the unpleasant sunlight.
Surfaces of the landscape and that of the first-floor exterior are covered with carcass stone which is a local material of this region while the second-level body of the villa is covered with cement plaster.
The idea is to establish a kind of dialectic between modernity and tradition by juxtaposing two different volumes that are different in terms of style, texture, and color. This is a critical action towards the villas that have been built in this area with classical-style. We intend to demonstrate the coexistence of modernity and tradition.
Various open and semi-open spaces are organized and designed inside and around the building which all are connected and act as an integrated outdoor space. These spaces provide sufficient privacy for users because of their proper location and depth.
