Adib Residential Complex is located in the Khaneh Isfahan neighborhood of Isfahan City. To the northwest of the project site, there is a green space and a tennis court, which, as the only beautiful and natural scenery around the site, have had the greatest influence on the entire conceptual formation and development of the project. Two major needs were identified in terms of form and facade: first, to take full advantage of the existing park view in the northwest, and second, to challenge Isfahan’s municipal regulations regarding privacy and the control of overlooking neighboring properties on the northern side.
In response to these needs, the northern volume of the project was designed with angular shifts that split the view from inside into two directions: the northeast (toward the neighbor) and the northwest (toward the park). The view toward the green space was designed to be open and unobstructed, while the view toward the neighbor was screened with a perforated brick wall. With this configuration, terraces were placed on the north side, connected to the private interior spaces of each apartment, while large terraces were positioned on the south side, connected to the living room and kitchen areas.
Additionally, the roof became a pivotal element, providing the project’s sole opportunity to create a platform for public events and communal living among residents. It facilitated various gathering experiences, with flexible surfaces on the ground sliding over each other to form spaces for adults to enjoy open-air cinema and children to play and explore.
Brick emerged as the predominant element in the facade, harmonizing with Isfahan’s climate and representing one of the city’s oldest architectural traditions. The facade features curved lines that gracefully ascend from ground to sky, dynamically adapting to our functional needs at every juncture.
Ultimately, a unified and sculptural facade was conceived to meet the project’s requirements: openness toward the northwest park, privacy control toward neighboring properties, an inviting entrance to the complex, and an emphasis on sensory beauty and visual appeal.
